My Body is a Temple
My hymen is the veil that is torn to reach the Holy of Holies.
Within me is the closest you will be to God.
Along with the sun and its ritual orbit of the milky way galaxy,
entering each constellation in the thirtieth degree and leaving in the thirty third,
I bleed.
My blood is shed for new life and redemption,
Not so I may ascend to heaven,
For I have already found such a place,
But so humanity may live on.
A soul will flourish, heal, and grow within the space
of my womb,
Even if it is only my own.
My body is a temple.
The core of my being quivers,
and the words “Oh my God” fall like honey from my lips.
This is my worship.
Within the valley of these legs, you will find holy water
And with each wave,
renewal comes,
forgiveness comes,
I come
So that they may have life, and have it in abundance.
